Стаж при Европейския омбудсман

 

Our mission is to serve democracy by working with the institutions of the European Union to create a more effective, accountable, transparent and ethical administration.

We do this by dealing with complaints against European Union institutions and by conducting inquiries on our own initiative, encouraging transparency, and promoting an administrative culture of service. We build trust by encouraging dialogue between citizens and the European Union and by promoting the highest standards of accountability and transparency within the EU administration.

Our guiding principles are integrity, fairness, accountability, dialogue, and service.

The aim of this traineeship notice is to invite applications for traineeships for the following two traineeships periods beginning on:

  • 1 September 2017
  • 1 January 2018

For general information on the traineeships, for example, their aim, duration and scholarships, please refer to the Decision of the European Ombudsman concerning traineeships available on the Ombudsman’s website.

1. Streams available for 2017/2018 traineeships: 

For the upcoming two traineeship periods, the Ombudsman offers traineeships in the following three streams:

  1. European Public Administration
  2. Law
  3. Web development

2. Specific qualifications 

In addition to the eligibility conditions set out in the Ombudsman’s decision concerning traineeships (see article 4), candidates should possess a degree or diploma in one of the following disciplines:

  1. Stream 1: political science or European studies or international affairs/relations or European public administration or Human Resources
  2. Stream 2: law
  3. Stream 3: IT, computer science or web development.

3. Selection criteria for Stream 2 

Candidates should fulfil the following selection criteria:

  • in depth knowledge of EU institutional law and a very good understanding of the role of the European Ombudsman;
  • very good knowledge of at least one specialist area of EU law or human rights law;
  • very good understanding of EU policies;
  • very good drafting skills in English;
  • very good drafting skills in another official language of the European Union;
  • very good communication and presentation skills;
  • demonstrated research skills.
