Bringing the World Home: A Cornell PhD's Vision for Language Learning in Bulgaria

„Bringing the World Home” will give you the opportunity to discover innovative language teaching methods with a highly trained professional who, after gaining extensive expertise around the world, has chosen to return to her native Bulgaria. Along with insights into Vesselina’s methods, you will also hear about the valuable lessons she learned throughout her global journey.

Following Vesselina’s presentation, we will enjoy signature alcohol-free beverages prepared by the ELC's expert bartender Hristo and continue the evening with engaging small-group conversations as part of our English idea exchange.

Vesselina holds a PhD in Education (Learning, Teaching, and Social Policy) from Cornell University, USA. She has more than 20 years of professional experience, most of which she acquired abroad.

Vesselina has worked for various UN agencies (UNICEF, UNDP, and UNRWA) and higher education institutions across the USA, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Until 2017, she served as an Assistant Professor of Educational Policy and Leadership in the United Arab Emirates. For the last six years she has been offering various English courses at different levels and working with professionals from diverse fields.

Her Facebook online English-speaking group has gathered more than 31,000 English enthusiasts. When she has some spare time, Vesselina also shares practical English tips on her TikTok page, which boasts over 67,000 followers.
